Llandwstumdwy to Aberech roundabout and back. Flat and straight enough to make an excellent TT course but not quite as flat as you’d think so it can be a tricky one to pace. Try it the first time, set a benchmark and come back and try to beat your time on your next run.
What’s involved in a time trial?
Time trials are the simplest form of cycle racing, often called the race of truth. You ride a set distance and your time over that distance is recorded.
Competitive time trials are run on open roads so you must obey the highway code and give way to traffic as normal. There will be marshals on the course but they have no powers to stop traffic so stay aware, look at the road ahead and stay vigilant. The courses are designed so as to minimise the chances of having to stop, no right hand turns and a roundabout to make the return turn.
Who can take part? Anyone who is a member of a CTT affiliated cycle club can compete, you need to be a member to be insured. If you are not a member of a club then get in touch and and get signed up. Under 16s can take part but must have a signed parental consent form.
